Quectel unveils LG680P, multi-constellation, multi-band GNSS module for high-precision navigation applications

Quectel integrates Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technology into advanced multi-band GNSS modules like the Quectel LG680P, enabling high-precision accuracy (down to centimetre-level) directly via satellite broadcast bands without requiring local RTK base stations or cellular broadband connections.

How Quectel PPP Works

  • Correction Data Sources: Utilizes satellite-based PPP correction streams, including Galileo E6 (HAS), QZSS L6 (CLAS/MADAS), and BeiDou B2b (BDS-PPP).
  • Multi-Band Reception: Concurrently tracks multiple frequency bands (L1, L2, L5, and L6) to mitigate atmospheric delays and multi-path signal errors.
  • Standalone Operation: Eliminates the need for Network RTK (NRTK) internet connections or external base station setups, making it ideal for remote or infrastructure-poor environments.

Key Benefits & Use Cases

  • No Cellular Dependency: Functions smoothly in rural or deep industrial areas where mobile data or Wi-Fi coverage is absent.
  • Target Applications: Perfect for precision agriculture (tractor auto-steer), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), smart lawnmowers, drone navigation, and professional land surveying.
  • Enhanced Robustness: Paired with built-in anti-jamming and high update rates (up to 20Hz) to ensure stable tracking under dynamic movement.
